Black Friday Blessings

You may have noticed, but I am in a "blog famine". Tis the season to be so freakin' busy!

I have been busy sewing, parenting, cleaning, Christmas decorating, and primary president-ing. It's been crazy and just when I think I'm am off the hook, something seems to always come up. I have even found it difficult to keep up on my blog comments, which totally makes me feel guilty! Don't worry, I'm still reading every one's blogs! Oh how I love thee, blogs! They have kept me sane.

Even though I have been so crazy busy lately, there are those special moments that are deemed worthy of a blog post!

And what in the heck, are you wondering, could bring me out of my "blog famine"? Was it Thanksgiving? Um, no. Yeah, I'm thankful for everything and blah, blah, blah... but that wasn't it.

Could it be another Homeboy disaster? No. Even though there are STILL plenty. ("Serenity now!")

Nope, it wasn't any of the above. In fact it was something much more petty, and evil.

It was Black Friday, people.

Awwwww yeah. Black Friday. It isn't for the weak of heart or mind. It's a sport, all in it's own. It's tradition!

This year me and my friend Lori, conquered Black Friday, together. I am happy to report that we did not get into any fights or scuffles this year. Last year, not so much. But this year, it was all good!

Everyone knows that the best part of Black Friday is the awesome people watching, and the fights. Yup, I'm evil that way.

Check out this sassy lassy! She must have been totally pumped to be the first one in line at Target, during the wee hours of the morning. She didn't even bother to change out of her TWEETY BIRD FOOTY pajamas! That's right... TWEETY BIRD FOOTY pajamas, on an adult woman. In public. I just can't imagine the discomfort of cramming my footy pajama feet into my sneakers. And not to mention the sweaty stench that is sure to occur.

And look at her sassy, hand-on-hip, action? Don't mess with Veronica and her TWEETY BIRD FOOTY pajamas!

Every time I see a person wandering the floors of a Walmart in their pajamas, I just can't help but wonder why it is so difficult to put a bra on, a pair of jeans, and sneakers. Really people, is it that difficult?
You can always tell what kind of a person they are, by their hair-do's. Or should I say... don'ts.
Take the example below. I believe this lady's hair-do screams, "Look at me! I like people staring at my hair and scaring young children and animals."
I was ready to call 911, for the fear of this poor lady having accidentally sticking a metal object into a plugged-in toaster, and resulting in being electrocuted. But then, I realized she actually wanted to look like this. You should have seen Miss Electra's front - white stripes streaking through her mile-high, bangs. Yikes!
I'm so happy that I could share these Black Friday moments with you! And I'm extremely happy that the wonderful Black Friday patrons, continue to entertain us, year after year. Merry Christmas Veronica! Merry Christmas Miss Electra!

  2. Wow! Niiiiice footy pajamas! I would expect to see that kind of wardrobe at Walmart, but Target!?!?! Shocking!!!

I am laughing because that gal with the crazy hair is related to a little girl that went to preschool with Jacob last year. She came to pick her up a few times and I couldn't help but stare. She is pretty old to be wearing such a shocking do and I can't help but wonder what her home and family life are like if she feels comfortable wearing her hair that way.

  3. Oh, man. I have never ventured out on an early 'Black Friday' morning...I don't doubt that the people-watching and fights are fantastic! But man...I bet Veronica and Electra would challenge me to a duel when they saw me staring at them slack-jawwed.
