I Did This!

I've been at it again, and have been sewing up a storm. Halloween costumes, baby blankets and burp rags. This week I have to sew 3 more blankets and 1 ninja Halloween costume and I have to make a some more clay magnets and a couple of ornaments. I don't think I have enough to do. I think I need to pile on a few more things. Actually, I really enjoy the sewing and creating... it's just harder with a toddler pushing the sewing machine pedal for you, trying to use the scissors as a teething ring, and whining over and over until you pick him up. It's all good.

Here's a baby blanket I made for my friend Tracee, who had the cutest, chubbiest baby boy, just last week. I think my uterus began to twitch when I held him.

Close up of the above blanket.

Another snugly blanket for baby Dawson.

I made these cute little Halloween ornaments for my wire tree. I sewed them out of muslim, painted them, sanded them, then stained them with a hot coffee, vanilla, and cinnamon mixture.

The pumpkin stem is made out of a cinnamon stick. How clever is that?

Stay tuned for further creations!

  2. I am utterly amazed at your talent! I love that blanket. I want to know...did you buy the coffee? and How did you feel when you bought it? Just curious. I have bought tea before and just sang in my head and didn't make eye contact while I was at the register. The one I can't bring myself to do is beer. I needed it for a yard project and couldn't summon the guts. Oh well. You are fabulous!

  3. Yeah I bought the coffee. I looked around and made sure no one saw me. I remember hiding it inside of the basket. I probably hid it with a package of pads or something more humiliating.

  6. You never cease to amaze me. Would it be weird if I wanted one of those blankets in a girl version for Faith? It's just too cute. I need a baby. Now.

You should go into business because you know we're not going to stop keeping you busy. We NEED your crafts!!!

And if you do ornaments for Lori, I want some too. More stuff to keep you busy. You know you love my annoying orders.

  12. Okay, what cute stuff are you doing for Christmas? Do you sell?
Love what you made and I want some cute Christmas things to buy for the new bride!! She has nothing, I am making her stockings and a tree skirt.

I don't mind buying coffee and beer and tea, I figure it just gives people something to gossip about and I am glad to help!!!
